English country meets metropolis

Review

Checking into this hotel feels a bit like arriving at your rich uncle's manor in the English countryside. Fine woven tapestries and oil paintings cling to heavy frames and richly polished woods blend into an atmosphere where every detail speaks of refinement. Breakfasts here are a true culinary highlight that'll leave you wishing you had an extra stomach. On a warm summer's day there's no better place to munch your croissants than in the enchanting garden ablaze with roses. Breakfast alone would be reason enough to make this hotel your Munich domicile, but there's plenty more to recommend it. Its location is a mere Frisbee toss from the famous Deutsches Museum and the friendly staff are unfailingly polite. Fresh fruit will be found waiting in your room upon arrival and the minibar is stocked with free beer and soft drinks. All these little details add up to one mighty fine hotel. Wind down your day with a free sherry or port in the handsome bar before retreating to the elegant, mostly good-sized rooms all decked out in soothing colours. Rooms ending in '6' overlooking the garden are the biggest and quietest.
